SUBMISSIONS FOR VOL. 2 F-K ARE CLOSED!

Many thanks to the hundreds of people who submitted their amazing work. We will begin our reading period in February. Stay tuned.

For future reference:

We often describe our editorial process as one part curation, one part chance operation. If you're interested in contributing to upcoming volumes of The Encyclopedia Project we suggest that you familiarize yourself with it so that you can get a sense of the project and the ways in which we seek to play with and complicate the encyclopedia form and its traditional function as a tool for learning. We explore, examine, present and expand ideas about fiction and narrative and we desire work that is layered, rigorous, funny, exciting, complex, obvious, challenging, lyrical, ugly and/or all of the above.

An entry may be fiction, criticism, essay, visual art, or any combination thereof, which somehow addresses the fictional presence, implication or expression of the word you choose.  Words from your list may be themes, titles, prompts, symptoms, structures, et cetera, for what you write.  Your entry will be indexed either by content, title, or by proper name of author (you or your subject, with cross-references where applicable). We prefer to publish original, previously unpublished works whenever possible.

WE ARE NOT CURRENTLY ACCEPTING SUBMISSIONS FOR VOLS. 3-5. WE'LL LET YOU KNOW WHEN WE ARE!
